Historical Structure Doomed?

The fate of the old lighthouse on Tillyville's Lullaby River remains in doubt. Concerned residents, led by Elinor Craft, have been circulating a petition which calls for the dismantling of the lighthouse. "It's an eyesore and a danger," Ms. Craft contends. "Lighthouses are supposed to be beautiful and keep us safe."

Opponents of the petition include Wesley Zull, who scoffs at Ms. Craft's complaint. "That old lighthouse is an important part of our history and not at all the danger some proclaim it," Zull says. "Destroying history—that's where danger lies," the mayor concludes.

The Tillyville Town Council will meet on Tuesday night to consider the matter.
